How to register your domain and hosting? What is hosting? Types of hosting and its registration Free hosting without advertising

Hosting - is the provision of free disk space on the server for hosting ready-made websites and file storage. The main purpose of a hosting company, no matter paid or free, is constant, 24/7 support Your resources on the Internet.

Free hosting.

In today's market conditions, no company will provide free hosting.
Another thing is that they do not charge you money for providing the service. In most cases for " free hosting"You pay by placing advertising on your website. And therefore, the hoster has a profit for placing an advertisement on each page of your website, which is several times higher than the fee for even the most expensive paid hosting.
Therefore this hosting not free! It's just barter. You are given in exchange for accommodation advertising on your website.

Free hosting without advertising.

There is one too free hosting, where you don’t have to place hoster advertising on your pages. But this does not mean that the company does not make a profit! A free account is only enough for a small website with low traffic.
Time passes. Your website moving up in search engines ah, it is being optimized, and at the same time the number of visitors is increasing. You add new context and a moment comes when you, or rather your site, does not have enough space that was provided to you on free hosting.
And as a result, you switch to paid hosting on the same hosting, but Not Very Expensive rate. As the needs of your site increase, the tariff also increases.
At first glance, the company that provided it to you ends up making a profit from your site. And hosting becomes paid for you.

Placement (registration) of a finished website on free hosting.

After your website is completely ready, it needs to be posted on the Internet.
Better to start with register website on free hosting to understand what hosting is and how it works.
Today there are plenty of companies providing hosting for free on the Internet.
One of the leading free hosters, at the time of writing, is narod.ru. But after he left uCoz, the attitude towards him changed sharply (both among web masters and search engines) for the worse. Although, sites from 7 years ago are still working, but the abundance of advertising placed by Yukos on them causes nothing but disgust.

With this article we will begin a very serious section - Earning money on your website. The topic is truly extremely complex and will require a large number of articles. I will try to tell everything very clearly and somehow systematize the whole process. I will tell everything solely on the basis of personal experience, I will highlight all the difficulties that I had to face and I will try to make the process as simple as possible for you.

In the first article, in theory, I should say that you should accurately determine the topic of future content and understand what the purpose of your site is. However, I believe that these are trivial things that should not be covered on my blog. If you don’t know why you need a website and what you want it to be, then it’s too early for you to do it. So we will start with registering hosting and domain.

What is Hosting and Domain?

Let's start with a little theoretical introduction. I will not go deep into the description, I will write brief definitions to understand the essence.

Hosting is a special resource on the network where your website files are located. To put it very simply, this is the place where your website is located.

I won’t describe what a domain is, we don’t really need it, I’ll only pay attention to the domain name.

Domain name is the name of the site. For example, site.com is a domain name.

Yes, everything is much simpler than it seems.

Thus, at the very beginning of the difficult but interesting path of creating a profitable website, you need to get space to host it (the same hosting). This is what we will talk about now.

Hosting registration

Hosting services can be either paid or free. If you are not sure that a personal website is really what you plan to do or you just want to try it first, then free hosting is ideal for you.

Free hosting

You can create a website absolutely free.

For this I recommend services uCoz or uKit. There you can create a website from scratch using the system’s internal builder and host it absolutely free. It’s hard to say which service is better; there are practically no differences in functionality. Here, as your heart tells you, then choose.

Disadvantages and advantages of free hosting:

  • The obvious advantage is that the content of the site is free;
  • Managing the site is much easier (ideal for beginners);
  • Disadvantages: sites on free hosting are promoted much worse in search engines; the sites contain advertising from the service, which is sometimes intrusive. However, these disadvantages can be prevented, since the site can be converted to a paid site at any time. This is most often a little more expensive than hosting without a designer.

From the points described above, we can conclude that this is an ideal option for those who are not sure of their motives regarding the site or those who want significantly less complexity.

Now let's move on to the main part of the article, to registering paid hosting.

Paid hosting

There are a huge number of options for different services. Before creating my website (where you are now), I spent a long time analyzing various hosting options to choose the best one. I made my choice based on 3 factors: cost, online reviews and services offered.

Based on the analysis, I chose hosting Sprinthost. It is possible that this is not an ideal option, but so far my personal experience with them has been definitely positive.

Hosting registration

Now let's move on to obtaining a domain for the site on the same service - Sprinthost.

Hosting issues were discussed in detail earlier in the article “”; this article provides a video tutorial on registering hosting with automatic installation blog on WordPress and receiving a domain name as a gift.

Recently I came across another wonderful hosting from the company - fast, reliable and partially free.

Hosting This is the first link ensuring the reliability of your site.

At the end of this article there is a video tutorial “How to register hosting” from the company.

2) At the bottom of the screen, click on the selected tariff plan, in our case it is the tariff “ Blog».

The “Blog” tariff is designed for small projects and fully satisfies the needs of beginners.

See for yourself:

    1 gigabyte of disk space;

  1. 2 FTP accounts;

    unlimited number of databases;

    unlimited number of mailboxes;

unlimited number of domains and subdomains.

If you are satisfied with everything, click the " Next» and enter your data.

3) Get acquainted with the public hosting offer Runs, there is no crime there, but to be aware, I always try to look through such documents.

Check the box " I have read the public offer" and click " Register an account».

4) On mobile phone, specified when registering hosting, in an SMS message, a verification code will be sent from the hosting.

Enter it in the appropriate window and click “ Complete registration”.

All! Your hosting is registered and ready to go!

Please note that Beget provides you with the first 30 days from the moment of registration completely free of charge!

5) A letter has been sent to you at the specified Email; it contains technical useful information that will be useful to us in the future. Be sure to save this letter, or better yet, print out your hosting information and passwords and save the printed sheet.

6) On the main hosting control panel (in the upper right corner) there is a toll-free phone number for contacting technical support 8-800-700-06-08, if you have any questions, feel free to call, the guys there are good - they will answer any of your questions and promptly help.

On the left side of the hosting control panel there is general information about the account:

    "Username"

    “Password” (can be changed),

    owner information (can be changed)

    Account movement

    Tariff plan (can be changed)

On the right side of the control panel there are icons that allow you to manage your hosting. We will get acquainted with each of them in detail in the corresponding lesson.

    Video lesson
    “How to register Beget hosting”
    for a WordPress site

In 2016, in my opinion, Beget left its competitors far behind:

    1. There is ALWAYS access to sites!
    2. The support guys are available by phone 24 hours a day and are always REALLY HELPING in resolving any issues!

    Additional advantages of Beget Hosting:

    1. From January 2017, Google and Yandex will begin to “pick on” sites that do not have an SSL certificate installed, so Beget hosting installs these certificates for FREE and with the click of just one button!

    2. Now on Beget hosting you can connect to the server via the SSH protocol without leaving the control panel!

    3. If your site is running on Beget hosting, then you can use full-text search - no problems with setup!

    4. You can create backup copy your website with an unlimited storage period. One copy is always free!
This means you will NEVER lose your site!

    5. The hosting has http/2 enabled for all users, which has increased the speed of loading sites!

    6. Beget has fine-tuning of PHP - a convenient editor of PHP directives allows you to configure PHP optimally for each CMS, and by default there are 34 different ones on the hosting!

    7. When transferring a site from another hosting, you pay for one year and receive SECOND YEAR OF HOSTING FREE!

Greetings, dear friends! Glad to see you on the pages of my blog.

Today, many beginners who want to do business on the Internet or simply find their niche on the world wide web are faced with technical problems. Where to start? How is a site registered? How is a website created? How to choose a good hosting? Etc.

Since the topic of my resource is making money on the Internet, and having your own website, blog or sales page is an integral part of a good and successful Internet business (regardless of the chosen type of activity), I will write several articles in which I will describe step by step the procedures required for the functioning of your business online.

    Hosting registration

First, I'll tell you what it is so you have an idea. Hosting is your place on the Internet. Something like your apartment, which you rent from a hosting provider.

Just like with renting an apartment, you pay for hosting services monthly, quarterly, or as you wish (I am not talking about free hosting now, and I do not advise you to contact them, because only you know what is free). Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to buy hosting so as not to pay for it anymore, and in principle, this is not so necessary, since the support and services of the hosting provider are worth paying for.

The hosting stores all the files and databases of your website. It is hosting that provides quick access to your site. This uses the resources of the hosting provider, not yours. hard drive– another argument in favor of the fact that it is better to choose paid hosting.

In addition, your online business must cover the costs of paying for hosting; if it is not even able to cover this, then think about the profitability of such a business. So, let's move on.

A domain is the name of your site, what is written in the address bar of the browser. As you can see, it consists of two parts (we are talking about the main domain, there are also subdomains, but more on them later) - the name (first-billion) and accessories (com), separated by dots.

A domain name and its affiliation are a unique combination. If you occupy the domain of your choice, then when you go to it, the user’s browser will open your site, and not someone else’s. Therefore, this name is intellectual property, and therefore, in order to make it clear to the hosting provider that you seriously intend to use the chosen domain, and are not taking it for fun or so that others simply don’t get it, you must also buy it and pay for it, though already annually and the cost is much lower.

To summarize the theoretical part, I will say that if you come to the Internet to earn money, you cannot do without deposits, and therefore if you are serious about working on your website, blog, etc., then forget about ucoz, blogspot, wordpress.com and other freebies platforms and hostings. Otherwise, don’t expect a large and high-quality audience, no matter how good your product or information on your website/blog is.

ATTENTION! I’ll say right away that in this article I only describe registration and payment for hosting and domain. If you don’t know what to do next, how to build a website or blog and upload it to hosting, then put this article aside for now and return to it when you find out everything and start taking action, or when I myself write the entire series of articles about creating a website/ blog. Otherwise, your paid domain and hosting will simply sit idle, and the purchased time will go down the drain.

    Buy domain and hosting

So, let's proceed directly to registration of hosting. We will register hosting on the website http://mchost.ru/. I use this hosting myself and consider it one of the best. So, go to the site.

In the lower left small block we can check the domain to see if it is busy. I’ll say right away that domain names vary in price. For example, .ru costs 250 rubles, and .com costs 1000. Think about what site name you need and check if it is taken. Next, we return to the main page (click on the logo at the top left) and click on the large “ORDER” button.

Select the registration type “Virtual hosting”.

    We get to this page:

Enter your e-mail and select the registration type “individual”.

Next, promo codes. By entering the promo code, you get a month of free hosting at the “Pro” tariff (the most optimal tariff for a beginner or even an already “fiddling” webmaster) and free test domain .

To receive such a promo code, write to me using. In the “Subject” field, write “Promo code for mchost” and ALWAYS include your e-mail, and I will be happy to send you your personal promo code.

Here we register the same free test domain. Enter your desired name and your phone number in the field below, with spaces as shown in the example. You should receive an SMS. Click “next”, wait for the SMS, enter the code from it in the field and click “Agree”.

Next, our login information was sent to us by e-mail. BE SURE to write them down or enter them in text file, which will definitely not be lost or deleted. Recovering them in case of loss is a big hassle. Let's move on. We enter the control panel from the link in the letter or from the button on the website at the top left.

We enter our data and log in. We get to our personal account:

First of all, at the top right, click the red inscription “Fill out the form.” Here you can only enter your full name (but it is advisable to fill in all fields). Save. Next, go to the “domain owner profiles” page.

Click “Add a new person”. This is where you need to fill everything out. Fill out according to the samples, there should be no problems. All fields should be highlighted in green.

    Website domain registration

Now let’s go to the “Register a domain” page (on the left, above the “owner profiles”).

In the first line you can already see the available domain accessories and see their cost. Choose any one you can fork out for. At least.bar J. But seriously, and.ru is quite suitable, although ideally I recommend.com

So, we have chosen, decided on the amount and now we need to top up the balance. Click “top up” in the balance line at the top:

We choose a payment method, hopefully with at least one payment system know how to use it. Everything here is intuitive and clear.

After replenishing the account, we return to “Register a domain”, select the desired name and affiliation. Next, your persona has already been selected (if you have added several persons, select the one to which the domain will be assigned). And enter your FTP login and password - I’ll tell you why this is needed in another article, when we get to the topic of blogging. Now just enter and also write down separately.

Carefully double-check the entered data, nothing can be changed later, but the money will be debited from the account, and click “Add”. Then “continue order”.

We have all the domain. It is not active yet. In the “Sites” section you can see the activation status:

If you enter the address of your site in the browser, it will not find the page until it finds it. When the domain is activated, the following picture will appear:

This means that the domain is activated and ready to go.

This is where I will end this article. I’ll also tell you about a couple of points. First: when you buy a domain, you buy it for a year. Exactly one year later, the current value of the account you are using will be debited from your account (if you do not have enough funds in your account, you will be asked to replenish it).

Second: after the promotional period ends, you will need to pay for hosting. To do this, in the top block in the “Tariff plan” line, click “Change”. The following page will open:

Here, by choosing a tariff and term, you can look for different hosting payment options that are convenient for you. The longer the period, the greater the discount on the total amount. To calculate the cost, select the specified parameters and click “Calculate”. Payment is made as in the case of a domain.

Hi all. Today's article is dedicated to hosting, and it will be useful to those who want to know what hosting is, what it is for, and how to use it. I will try to describe everything in detail and put everything on the shelves so that it is clear to beginners. If you are planning to create your own website, then it will be useful for you to know how this mechanism works and what problems may arise when registering hosting and while using the site.

    What is hosting

Let's start with the most simple examples. In the simplest case, a site consists of individual pages that are connected by links. In the simplest case, the site consists of just one page. The Internet can be thought of as a photo exhibition, where the photographs on the wall are separate sites. You can view the photos posted there as much as you like, or you can place your photo on this wall. But you can’t just do this, because no one will give you space for free, so you need to pay money and rent a space on this wall for your photo. It’s the same in real life - to place your website on the Internet, you need to rent a place for it where the html pages of your site would be stored so that any Internet user has access to it. Providing such a place is precisely what hosting does.
Let's go further and look at what types of hosting there are.

    Types of hosting

There are three main types of hosting: Shared hosting, virtual dedicated server(VPS server) and dedicated server. Let's look at their main differences.
As I already said, hosting deals with providing space to host a website. The place where websites are stored is called a server. In simple terms, a server is a powerful computer that can withstand heavy loads. Servers are located in rooms (data centers) in large groups with separate cooling, ventilation, etc. Here, for example, is a server room in one of the data centers:

Let's return to the types of hosting.
Shared hosting is a hosting where websites are located on one server, and each user is allocated a portion of disk space to store their files.
Today this is one of the most common types of hosting due to its low cost and ease of use.
But it also has significant disadvantages, the most unpleasant of which is the dependence on other users whose sites are located on the same server. If a lot of visitors came to the site of your neighbor on the server and he could not cope with the load, then both his site and yours will “fall” (stop loading). Here again we can give an example with a photo exhibition. Let’s say you placed your photographs on the same wall with other photographers and a whole crowd of people came to look at your neighbor’s work, in this case, a person who wants to look at your photographs will not be able to do this, because he simply will not be able to get through the crowd.
Next view - virtual dedicated server. Here you are allocated a portion of the server's disk space, independent of other users. That is, there is only one server, but the users on it have no connection with each other. If you again imagine a photo exhibition, then it can be compared to a separate wall on which only your photographs are located. There are a lot of walls in the room, but fans of different photographers do not overlap or interfere with each other.
This type of hosting is faster and more stable, but costs more. In addition, setting up such a server may require specialists, who also need to pay money.
If the site is very large and has a large amount of traffic (visitors), then the owners think about separate servers to host your websites. This type is called dedicated server. This is a separate physical server. Comparing this to a photo exhibition, you can imagine an entire gallery containing only your photographs.
This is the most reliable and most expensive type of hosting available.
Some website owners buy their own servers and simply rent space for these servers in data centers, this is called colocation (colocation)
We've sorted out the theory, now let's figure out how to register hosting.

    Hosting registration

Now I will use my example to show the entire process of registering virtual hosting. Why virtual? Because for 99% of new sites this is the most cost-effective option, since during the first time of your site’s life there will be a minimum of visitors to it. Over time, you can always upgrade to a more expensive type of hosting.
I will show it using the example of hosting that I use myself - allhostings.ru. Over several years of use, there have never been any problems with it, so you can safely use it too. In general, all hosting services are very similar to each other, so these instructions are universal for many similar services.

To register, follow a few simple steps:

    1) Go to the hosting website and click on the link in the upper right corner "Personal account"

    3) On the next page fill in all required fields

Then choose a complex password (with capital and small letters, with different signs and numbers). The password complexity indicator is on the right. Enter the characters from the picture, click the agreement checkbox and follow the link "Click to continue"

After registration we get to home page personal account. All basic contact information is located here, and all tickets (support requests) and unpaid invoices are also displayed

After registering hosting, to start using it, you need to select a tariff plan and pay for it. To do this, in the right sidebar, in the section Services select a line Shared hosting

Here is all the information about tariff plans in a convenient form for comparison

For a more detailed description of tariffs, you can follow the link “I don’t know what to choose, tell me in simple terms.” If you have definitely decided on the tariff, click on the link "I'll take it." For example, I chose the simplest and cheapest tariff.

The next step is to select the domain on which our site will be located. I will write more about domains in future articles. If you are not yet very well versed in this issue, then select the last item and enter any unoccupied domain name you like.

The final step is to select a payment method (I paid using a card, so I chose "Other types of payments"), click the Terms of Service checkbox and then the “Complete order” button.

After this, you will be redirected to the service payment page, where, following the instructions, you need to pay for the service.

Upon completion of payment, you will receive an email with all the data for using hosting. This includes:

    • Control panel address and login with password for it. The control panel is a service with which you can fully manage the site (upload files, add databases, add mailboxes and much more);
    • DNS servers that need to be entered for your domain.
    • Details for accessing site files via FTP.
    • A temporary address for your website until you update the DNS servers for the domain.

Be sure to save this letter or rewrite all this data, you will definitely need it someday.

All. After all these steps, you will be able to upload your site to your hosting via FTP or using the standard file uploader in the control panel.

If you still have questions about hosting, you can use the Knowledge Base in personal account hosting, which contains useful information for beginners and answers to frequently asked questions. Good luck!
