Motorola Moto Z2 Play review: a smartphone that can be improved! Review of Moto Z2 Play - a new smartphone designer from Motorola Motorola new smartphone z2

The purity of the Android OS has been inherited by Moto smartphones - since the time when the world-famous search giant Google seized the rights to the brand, and then transferred them to Lenovo. However, the second generation of the Motorola Moto Z Play smartphone designer is interesting not only because of the absence of a third-party proprietary shell.

Collect yourself!

The main "trump card" of the device - support for external modules Moto Mods, which significantly "pump" the functionality of the device. So, the Hasselblad True Zoom overhead camera turns the smartphone into a full-fledged camera with 10x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. The Insta-Share Projector module allows you to broadcast an image from a smartphone up to 70 inches diagonally on the wall. The JBL Soundboost 2 speaker makes the mobile gadget the center of attraction for music lovers. Finally, the Turbo Power Pack with built-in 3000mAh battery increases the time battery life smartphone twice.

Flagship ambitions

Motorola Moto Z2 Play is worthy of attention without all of the above. The smartphone competes almost on an equal footing with the current flagships, although its hardware platform cannot be called particularly productive right off the bat. It is based on a Snapdragon 626 processor overclocked to 2.2 GHz, which is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory. The slot for a microSD card to increase free space is taken out separately from the two seats for SIM-cards. The device works quickly and clearly responds to all user commands, even if there are many running applications in the background.

fast charging

The user should expect 5-6 hours of SuperAMOLED screen activity in mixed usage. This is slightly less than its predecessor (Motorola Moto Z Play), but still enough for a day of work without recharging. In which case, support for fast charging technology comes to the rescue - 3000 mAh battery tanks are filled with energy by half in just half an hour at the outlet.

Standing out from the crowd

In the "naked" form, the smartphone's main camera lens sticks out significantly (resolution 12 MP, maximum aperture f / 1.7). You can hide it under the “clothing” of interchangeable back covers for every taste and color, or under external modules Moto mods. Their support makes the model truly unique and uncontested, allowing the smartphone owner to stand out from the gray mass of conventional devices.

The idea of a modular smartphone has long haunted manufacturers. Recall at least the now abandoned Project Ara from Google or the LG G5. The idea was interesting, but the system turned out to be inconvenient: there are few modules, they also make sense. Even LG abandoned the experiments and made the new flagship conventional, returning to monolithic cases.

The only company that is still trying to surprise with non-standard solutions is Motorola. Its modular concept turned out to be the most thoughtful and affordable. With a flick of the wrist, you can turn your smartphone into a projector, speaker, game console, or upgrade your camera. Today, no one but Moto can offer such opportunities.

An interesting novelty last year was the Moto Z Play: a solid mid-ranger made of glass and metal, with a good camera and excellent autonomy. This year we are getting acquainted with the second generation - Moto Z2 Play.

It is much lighter and thinner than its predecessor, has an improved camera and hardware. At the same time, it works both with new modules and with previously released ones.

Moto Z2 Play received a Sony IMX362 module with a resolution of 12 megapixels, the lens aperture is F1.7. The camera starts up quickly and focuses instantly thanks to laser and phase detection autofocus. There is also a dual-color LED flash to assist the camera. There is no dual camera, yet this is the prerogative of the flagships.

The front camera has a modest 5 megapixels, the lens aperture is F2.2. Not the best solution for today; It's not always easy to get a good selfie. But there is a flash, so in low light, the pictures are not bad.

Together with the smartphone, a photomodule, created jointly with Hasselblad, arrived at the editorial office. The Hasselblad True Zoom module rests on a special magnetic mount and putting it on is as easy as shelling pears: you need to attach your smartphone to the module and it will magnetize itself, finding contact with a special platform. Interestingly, the Hasselblad True Zoom completely covers the camera of the device, so the sensor is its own, and with backlight. Its resolution is 12 megapixels and its physical size is 1/2.3 inches.

Of course, there is no medium format matrix here, and it makes no sense to compare the module with cameras from the Swedish brand. But, installed on a Moto Z-series smartphone, it turns the device into a full-fledged camera with 10x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. The equivalent focal length is 25-250mm. True, you have to pay for this with the aperture ratio of the lens, which ranges from F3.5 to F6.5. It is also worth noting the xenon flash that the module is equipped with.

As a result, you get a small camera that shoots better than the average smartphone. In this case, you can continue to fully use the phone.

What you need to know about Moto Z2 Play:

    5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, 1920x1080 resolution, 401 ppi.

    Octa-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 with a frequency of 2.2 GHz. Not top, but it works smartly, without lags and overheating. For this we must thank the almost pure Android 7.1.1, well optimized even for weak processors.

    4 GB random access memory and 64 GB built-in. The latter can be expanded up to 2 TB.

    Two SIM cards can be inserted into the SIM card tray at once and there is a separate slot for microSD.

    The thickness of the smartphone case is only 5.9 millimeters, and the weight is 145 grams.

    3000 mAh battery. The smartphone can withstand a working day, and if you sometimes give it a rest, it will live until the next day's lunch.

    Support for modules that expand the capabilities of a smartphone. More than ten are available, including projector, speaker, wireless charger, Hasselblad photomodule and others.

The Chinese company Lenovo continues to delight consumers with new models of smartphones from the Moto brand (read, Motorola). And sometimes you wonder how different the devices turn out. For example, the Moto C Plus model came out on a budget, and everyone noted the 10 mm thickness of its case. However, Lenovo showed that they can also make very thin smartphones, which is a vivid proof - the Motorola Moto Z2 Play Dual XT1710-07 smartphone with a case thickness of only 6 mm. We will talk about it in the proposed review.

Overview of the smartphone Motorola Moto Z2 Play Dual. Smartphone is a delicate matter

Introduction

Motorola Moto Z2 Play Dual XT1710-07 turned out to be a truly original smartphone, and this applies not only to its elegant thin body. In addition to the device, you can purchase Moto Mods modules, which significantly expand the capabilities of the latter.

In particular, a smartphone with a flick of the wrist turns into a projector, gamepad or professional digital camera with optical zoom.

Appearance

Incredibly small thickness catches the eye immediately. The bezels around the edges are thin, but the 5.5-inch display takes up about 70.1% on the front panel, which is not much, because there is a lot of space above and below the screen. It is used to good effect - for example, the front camera, dual LED flash, earpiece and sensors are located above the display.

But under the screen, an oval-shaped multifunctional fingerprint scanner is found, which we usually see on the back of smartphones from other manufacturers.

Three touch Android buttons are displayed directly on the screen. The front panel is completely covered with protective 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. There are two color options for the smartphone - Golden (Fine Gold) and Lunar Gray (Lunar Gray). We tested the first option.

The back panel has a matte metal surface, so the smartphone does not slip in the hands. The antenna inserts are very innovatively located - not from below and above, but around the entire perimeter of the panel.

Another feature is the Moto Mods Connector contact block at the bottom of the back cover. And since the lens of the main camera also rises above rear panel It is not by chance that beautiful interchangeable panels are offered for Motorola Moto Z2 Play Dual XT1710-07, in addition to modules that expand capabilities.

On the right side there is a ribbed power button and, which is also curious, two separate keys for adjusting the volume of the sound (instead of the so-called "rocker"). We also note the fact that the buttons are quite miniature, so it is not always possible to hit them right away.

The bottom end has not only a modern universal USB Type-C port, but also a classic 3.5 mm audio output, where it is convenient to connect headphones.

If the manufacturer were limited to only USB Type-C, then many users would have to look for an adapter to use their "outdated" headphones. We note in passing that the USB Type-C port supports USB OTG technology, that is, connecting external devices such as portable storage devices.

The upper end is no less remarkable, on the contrary. On it, in addition to the noise reduction microphone, you can see a slot for two SIM cards and a microSD memory.

However, it is not combined at all! The owner of the smartphone has the right to use immediately and simultaneously two Nano-SIMs (on one side of the retractable sled) and one microSD (on the other side).

Screen

Used matrix - Super AMOLED. She is not a frequent guest in displays, we usually deal with IPS matrices. Therefore, it would be useful to recall that AMOLED is an active matrix of thin-film transistors based on organic light-emitting diodes. In Super AMOLED, touch sensors are combined with a glass panel, thus eliminating the layer of air.

The screen diagonal is 5.5 inches. Its resolution is 1080x1920 pixels. The pixel density is 401 ppi. On the front panel, the display takes up approximately 70.1%. Supports touch control (up to ten touches). The screen is reliably protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3, as mentioned above. The brightness is adjusted automatically as well as manually.

Software and Interface

As operating system Android version 7.1.1 is used. Nougat. There is a proprietary shell Moto Experiences.

However given interface is very close to the "clean" version of Android, so there is no need to talk about it for a long time.

The user can manage wallpapers and widgets, and among the pre-installed applications there are standard calculator, calendar, camera, translator, spreadsheets, maps, presentations, etc.

Hardware and Performance

As a chipset, the manufacturer chose an eight-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 MSM8953 Pro, manufactured using a 14 nm process technology. Its ARM Cortex-A53 cores operate at 2.2 GHz.

The Qualcomm Adreno 506 video chip is responsible for graphics output. There is a lot of RAM installed - 4 GB of the LPDDR3 standard. Built-in memory - 64 GB, but the user will be available 52 GB. However, the memory is easily expanded by installing microSD cards(HC/XC) up to 256 GB.

The configuration of the smartphone is quite powerful, as evidenced by the tests.

Camera

The main camera has a 12.2-megapixel sensor (pixel size 1.4 µm). It is capable of shooting at a maximum resolution of 4032x3024 pixels. And it records video in 4K UHD resolution (3840x2160 pixels) at 30 frames per second - great performance!

The lens aperture is also excellent - f / 1.7. Laser and phase detection autofocus with Dual Pixel technology for faster focusing. Built-in digital stabilization. Double LED lighting. Zoom is digital only. There is an HDR mode. Software able to recognize a face and a smile in the frame. The "Professional" mode allows you to "play" with the values of white balance, shutter speed, ISO (up to ISO 3200), manual focus and exposure compensation scale.

The front camera of the smartphone is 5-megapixel (pixel size 1.4 µm), with a wide-angle lens so that a group of people can fit into the frame, not just one person. It shoots photos at a maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels, and records video at a maximum resolution of Full HD (1920x1080 pixels). It also has dual LED flash and fixed focus. Its aperture value is f/2.2. In general, the ideal camera for selfies, including group ones.

Battery

The battery in the smartphone is installed lithium-ion, non-removable. Its capacity is 3000 mAh. With an average load level, the smartphone is able to last from a fully charged battery for almost a whole day - this is a worthy indicator for such a thin device.

But if the battery runs out at the wrong time, it doesn’t matter, because the device supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. In just half an hour, the smartphone is able to restore its battery charge by 50%. By the way, there is a battery module with a capacity of 3490 mAh.

Communications

The smartphone supports 2G, 3G and 4G cellular networks, including LTE Cat.13 with a maximum download speed of up to 300 Mbps, and LTE Cat.7 with a maximum transfer rate of up to 150 Mbps. There is only one radio module, so SIM cards operate in Dual SIM Dual Standby mode. But both cards are in active standby mode in 3G/4G networks at the same time. It is proposed to access the Internet using a dual-band Wi-Fi module (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). You can use to share files bluetooth module 4.2. Wireless hotspot organization available. There is even NFC with support for Mifare Classic contactless smart cards to pay for transport services.

Such cards are very common in Russian cities. The USB Type-C port supports connecting external drives, gamepads and other devices (USB OTG technology). The navigation module extremely quickly searches for satellites both in the GPS system and in the domestic GLONASS system. Geotagging is supported - leaving the geographic GPS coordinates of the point where the photo was taken.

Total

Smartphone Motorola Moto Z2 Play Dual XT1710-07 is able to surprise even worldly-wise users. Among the host of twin devices, this model stands out not only for its very thin body, but also for the simultaneous support of two SIM cards and a microSD memory card in one retractable slot, a water-repellent nano-coating and, of course, support for various modules. The latter are able to turn a smartphone into a gamepad, projector, professional digital camera with optical zoom, etc.

Not so long ago, Lenovo bought the rights to use the Motorola brand. At one time, these phones were very popular, surprising users with their excellent innovative design and features. The new smartphone released under this brand, which was called Moto Z2 Play, was no exception. The device is equipped with a powerful processor, a large amount of memory and the ability to use special modules that will expand the functionality of the smartphone. This combination of characteristics undoubtedly arouses the interest of many users, so we will devote today's review to a modular smartphone from Motorola.

Appearance and packaging Moto Z2 Play

Like most modern smartphones, Moto Z2 Play comes in a cardboard box and comes standard with:

  • phone itself;
  • charger with fast charging function;
  • wired stereo headset;
  • clip;
  • additional panel;
  • technical documentation.
Of the unusual, it is worth noting the presence of an additional rear cover and a stereo headset. Recently, many manufacturers do not include headphones in the package. The extra back cover will come in handy for those who don't like too much thin smartphones, since the Z2 Play is only 6mm thick, and some owners may experience some inconvenience when using. All additional modules that will be used to expand the functionality of the smartphone are not included in the package and are sold separately.

Most manufacturers of modern smartphones do not deviate from typical manufacturing patterns, and each subsequent model is manufactured according to a common pattern. Using an unusual case carries certain risks, so manufacturers tend to standardize the design of their devices. This model was no exception, although it received a number of certain chips.

The front panel is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, which is designed to preserve the screen and protect it from numerous mechanical damage. At the bottom is a mechanical control button like those used by Samsung. One of the features of this button is that it combines the function of a fingerprint scanner. The sensor works quite quickly, but if the fingers are dirty or wet, then there may be problems with their recognition. In addition, with a long press on the button, the phone screen is locked, which also makes it easier to work with a smartphone. Lens is on top front camera 5 megapixels, a speaker, a flash and a sensor, due to which the backlight of the screen turns on automatically when your hand approaches.

On the back panel is the lens of the main camera. Unlike most modern devices, the Motorola Moto Z2 Play smartphone received a huge round module that protrudes from the case for a considerable distance. The solution is rather non-standard, given the fact that it creates certain inconveniences when used, clinging to pockets or clothes. You can fix this flaw with the help of an additional panel. Also at the bottom is a contact panel, which is used to connect additional modules. We will focus on this point in our review later.

At the top end, the manufacturer placed a compartment for 2 sim cards and a memory card. At the bottom is a USB-C 3.1 connector for connecting the power cable and a standard headphone jack.

The main "chip" of the Moto Z2 Play smartphone is its thickness. It is, as we have said, only 5.99 millimeters. The previous model was also quite thin, but this time the smartphone has surpassed all expectations. As for other parameters: length - 156.2, width - 76.2. The weight of the smartphone is only 145 grams, which is achieved through the combined use of metal and plastic. The smartphone comes in two colors: moon gray and gold. The colors are quite subdued.

Display Moto Z2 Play

Lenovo has equipped its Moto Z2 Play smartphone with a modern Super AMOLED screen with the most popular diagonal to date - 5.5 inches. The display has FullHD resolution (1920x1080). The use of Super AMOLED technology gives the screen the following advantages:
  • excellent color reproduction and support for up to 16 million colors;
  • good pixel density (401 ppi), which provides excellent picture quality;
  • decent viewing angles;
  • high energy efficiency.
The 3rd generation Corning Gorilla Glass is responsible for protecting the screen. Oleophobic coating ensures smooth gliding of fingers. There is also a water-repellent coating that protects against splashes.

Among the interesting features of the screen is the presence of the “Moto display” function. It allows the user to view notifications and time without activating the screen backlight. The use of this technology increases the battery life of the device.

Specifications Moto Z2 Plus

Despite the fact that this device is available with several options for hardware stuffing, only a version with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of internal memory will be presented to the Russian market. Memory expansion is possible through the use of a flash card, the volume of which can be up to 2 terabytes.

The Motorola Mobile Computing system is responsible for the speed of data processing in the device. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor has 8 active cores with a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz. This chipset can hardly be called powerful and fast, since it is only a slightly overclocked version of the 625. However, in combination with a large amount of RAM, the Moto Z2 Play smartphone shows good performance and multitasking. The graphics information is processed by the Adreno 506 accelerator. In general, a weak representative of its class. It is not worth waiting for outstanding performance from him.

The device has been tested on the following games:

  • Doodle Jump;
  • Lara Croft;
  • Godfire: Rise of Prometheus
  • World of Tanks Blitz.
In general, the device coped well with all games, showed good results in the number of frames per second, there were no lags and slowdowns. Nevertheless, it should be noted that this processor is far from the top, therefore, with prolonged use as gaming platform Your Moto Z2 Play smartphone has become very hot. Although which of the flagships does not sin with this?

The operating system uses Android version 7.1.1 without any third-party shell. The system is completely cleared of any third-party interventions, thus giving the user the opportunity to either enjoy the clean version or change it on their own as they wish. The menu has the ability to configure voice commands to control the smartphone, but traditionally there is no support for the Russian language.

In general, the operating system works very quickly, without brakes and lags, there are flexible options for customizing and fitting to your own needs. In short, the Moto Z2 Play performs well in terms of performance.

Multimedia features Moto Z2 Play

The phone has one speaker. The sound is not particularly loud, but clear enough. At high volume, the speaker does not wheeze, extraneous noise not noticed. Listening to music through high-quality headphones is a pleasure. The sound will pleasantly surprise even the most arrogant music lovers.

The manufacturer did not focus on the camera. There are two of them here:

  • 12 megapixel main;
  • 5 megapixel front.
The main camera is equipped with a very good module with ISO 1.7, as well as laser autofocus up to 5 meters. Thanks to him, aiming at the desired object occurs almost instantly. Unfortunately, the dual camera in the model is not provided. In the daytime, in good light, the pictures are bright and clear. In night mode, the smartphone catches a lot of glare, which is why the final photo is very mediocre. There is also no optical stabilization. Even the unpopular Chinese smartphones, which have a lower price, have at their disposal much better cameras. The only good news is that this shortcoming can be corrected with the help of a special additional module, which we will talk about later. Well, the presence of a dual LED flash is a big plus. As for the maximum photo resolution, it is 4032x3024 pixels. By the way, the Moto Z2 Play smartphone supports the ability to shoot video with a resolution of 4K at 30 fps.

The front camera is also simple. If the main camera uses a Sony IMX362 Exmor RS sensor, then the front camera uses an OmniVision OV5693 sensor. Of the pluses, the presence of a flash can be noted. For lovers of selfies at night, this will be a nice addition. Pictures are obtained with a maximum resolution of 2592x1944, and videos - 1920x1080.

Moto Z2 Play: an overview of wireless interfaces

This model has the following wireless modules:
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 (2.4/5 GHz);
  • Bluetooth 4.2LE;
  • A-GPS;
  • GLONASS.
Communication with satellites is instantaneous, the signal is stable and uninterrupted. The automatic payment system using a smartphone also works due to the presence of an NFC module. As for networks, the smartphone works confidently with both GSM and LTE.

Moto Z2 Play smartphone offline

Let's complete Motorola review Moto Z2 Play battery life characteristics. Compared to the previous version, the new device lost in battery capacity. Now it has a rather modest 3000 mAh. The capacity had to be sacrificed for the sake of even an unnecessarily thin case.

However, it should be noted that a small battery shows excellent autonomy:

  • 6 hours of screen operation;
  • 14 hours of video at full brightness with maximum resolution;
  • 12 hours of work with games.
Such indicators are possible due to the fact that the Super AMOLED screen is highly energy efficient. Also in defense of Moto Z2 Play, we note that the fast charging function is supported. That is, in 15 minutes you can charge the battery for eight hours of use. And in half an hour the charge is restored by half. The battery is non-removable.

Modules Moto Z2 Play

most main feature device is the presence of plug-ins. The company plans to support the model with the release of new, more interesting additions. They are not included in the package and must be purchased separately. Now we will consider 4 main modules, but others are available for sale:
  1. Hasselblad True Zoom. This module is simply indispensable for fans of using a smartphone as a camera. This photomodule allows you to turn your phone into a real camera with 10x zoom. A company that specializes in the production of photographic equipment is responsible for the development. Hasselblad True Zoom is additionally equipped with a xenon flash, as well as an optical zoom. Its dimensions are 152.3x72.9x9–15.1 mm, and the weight is 145 grams. When using it, the device becomes almost 3 times thicker. Activation takes a few seconds. The module has a traditional button layout for cameras. Shooting takes place through a standard application. The main advantage of the add-on is the presence of zoom and optical stabilization. Thanks to its use, the final photos are obtained on a solid 5-ku. Of course, it cannot be compared with SLR cameras, but the functionality of the base camera increases significantly. One of the downsides is the lack of a battery. At the same time, it is worth noting that 100 shots consume approximately 30 percent of the total battery charge of the Moto Z2 Play smartphone. Not such a bad indicator.
  2. Insta-Share Projector. This module turns a smartphone into a full-fledged projector that can project an image onto a screen up to 70 inches. Its dimensions are 153x74x11 mm, and its weight is 125 grams. The possibilities are quite enough for home use. In a dark room, the screen brightness (nominal 50 lumens) is enough with a margin and you can comfortably watch movies and videos. Contrast - 400 to 1. The lamp is designed for 10 thousand hours. The module has its own 1100 mAh battery, which is enough to continuously project video for 1 hour. Installation of additional applications is not required. Install Insta-Share Projector, place it in front of the screen, focus and enjoy the picture that appears. The add-on will automatically adjust the image.
  3. JBL Soundboost 2. It is a portable speaker for the Moto Z2 Play smartphone. The volume reserve of standard speakers is clearly not enough, so for those who like to listen to music on the street, in nature or in an apartment with friends, this module is a must. Its volume can be up to 80 dB. Frequency range from 200 Hz to 20 kHz. There is a built-in battery with a capacity of 1000 mAh, which lasts for 10 hours of continuous operation. The quality of the music is sufficient, however, at maximum volume, wheezing still slips through. The total power of the speakers is 6 watts. The dimensions of the JBL Soundboost 2 are 152x73x14.5 mm and the weight is 135 grams. There is splash protection.
  4. Moto Turbo Power Pack. External battery 3000 mAh. The module itself has acceptable dimensions and, unlike portable speaker, does not make the smartphone bulky. But it will double the battery life. The only downside is the need to disconnect the module for charging. You cannot charge the primary and secondary batteries at the same time. There is support for fast charging.
Among the additional modules, you can also find a gamepad that will turn the Moto Z2 Play smartphone into a full-fledged game console. The company plans to release a camera with the ability to shoot panoramic video with high resolution. In addition, lovers of interchangeable panels can choose from a wide variety of not only colors, but also materials.

Moto Z2 Play: price, pros and cons

Summing up the review, I would like to note that in the standard configuration, the obvious advantages of a smartphone can only be considered an unusual design, a high-quality screen and 4 gigabytes of RAM.

Among the bright cons are:

  • average performance by modern standards;
  • sufficient weak standard cameras;
  • small capacity battery.
However, these advantages and disadvantages apply only to basic version. The presence of additional modules makes the device universal, able to please all users. Therefore, insufficient battery life or mediocre photo quality can be corrected with additional modules, for which, however, you will also have to pay a lot.

The recommended price of Moto Z2 Play in Russia is 35,000 rubles. Far from the most budget option, because among Chinese analogues you can find devices with better hardware. Whether the modular functionality of a smartphone is worth that kind of money is up to you. Although the Moto Z2 Play had a release date in Russia back in June. Until now, most of the modules are not on sale, which is also not very encouraging. If necessary, they can be ordered in foreign online stores. More information about the device in the video below:

TFT IPS- High-quality liquid crystal matrix. It has wide viewing angles, one of the best indicators of color reproduction quality and contrast among all those used in the production of displays for portable equipment.
Super AMOLED- if a conventional AMOLED screen uses several layers, between which there is an air gap, then in Super AMOLED there is only one such touch layer without air gaps. This allows you to achieve greater screen brightness with the same power consumption.
Super AMOLED HD- differs from Super AMOLED in a higher resolution, thanks to which it is possible to achieve 1280x720 pixels on a mobile phone screen.
Super AMOLED plus- this is a new generation of Super AMOLED displays, differs from the previous one by using more sub-pixels in a conventional RGB matrix. The new displays are 18% thinner and 18% brighter than the older PenTile displays.
AMOLED- an improved version of OLED technology. The main advantages of the technology are significantly reduced power consumption, the ability to display a large color gamut, a smaller thickness and the ability of the display to bend a little without the risk of breaking.
retina-display with high density pixels, designed specifically for Apple technology. Pixel density per Retina displays is such that individual pixels are indistinguishable to the eye at a normal distance from the screen. This provides the highest image detail and greatly improves the overall viewing experience.
Super Retina HD- The display is made using OLED technology. The pixel density is 458 PPI, the contrast ratio reaches 1,000,000:1. The display has an extended color gamut and unrivaled color accuracy. Pixels in the corners of the display are anti-aliased at the sub-pixel level, so borders don't distort and look smooth. Super Retina HD reinforcement layer is 50% thicker. Breaking the screen will be harder.
Super LCD is the next generation of LCD technology and features improved features compared to earlier LCD displays. Screens have not only wide viewing angles and better color reproduction, but also reduced power consumption.
TFT- A common type of liquid crystal displays. With the help of an active matrix, controlled by thin-film transistors, it is possible to significantly increase the speed of the display, as well as the contrast and clarity of the image.
OLED- organic electroluminescent display. Consists of a special thin-film polymer that emits light under the influence of an electric field. This type of display has a large margin of brightness and consumes very little power.
