WHY ARE PLANTS GREEN? The work was completed by: Taisiya Olegov Chervatyuk, 1st grade student, MBOU "Akimov Secondary School" of the Nizhnegorsky District Municipal Educational Institution. Scientific supervisor: Niyara Azhmerovna Musledinova, Primary school teacher. Plants play an important role on Earth. The vital processes of any organism require energy. The main source of energy on Earth is the energy of the Sun, which reaches us in the form of solar rays. However, animals, fungi and bacteria cannot use it in this form. We feed on organic substances and get energy from them. Plants can only perceive solar energy. Thus, plants provide food for almost all other living things on Earth. The purpose of my work was: to study the effect of sunlight on the growth and intensity of the photosynthesis process under different plant growing conditions. The object of the study was wheat. For the study, wheat seeds were germinated and sown; the plants were in two pots. One pot of wheat was placed in a dark closet, the other was on the windowsill in the primary school classroom. 3 days after the start of the experiment, observations were made: - the plant, which was in a dark cabinet, continued to grow regardless of its location, but it became lighter and the color changed from dark green first to bright green, and then to yellow. - no color changes occurred with the plant that was on the windowsill. After three days in the sun, the plant again acquired a green color. CONCLUSIONS Thus, the effect of sunlight on the growth and intensity of photosynthesis by plants was investigated. The plant in a dark cabinet did not stop growing, which proves that for plants to grow, sunlight is not necessary, but rather that they are watered. However, changes did occur: the color changed from dark green at first to bright green, then to yellow. This indicates that the leaves of the plant contain substances that, depending on the intensity of sunlight, affect its color. Based on literature sources, we found out that such substances are green pigments - chlorophylls. And in the plant placed in a dark cabinet, the process of destruction of these substances occurred. We also came to the conclusion that in the fall the leaves become multi-colored precisely because of this process - the process of destruction of the green matter, and then the leaves slowly die off. As for the second plant, no noticeable changes occurred with it; only after the height of the plants was measured, they came to the conclusion that the plants had grown. During the experiment, it was established that the growth of a plant does not depend on sunlight, but its color is directly related to the intensity of sunlight. Thank you for your attention!

Why is the grass green? It is known that white color is a mixture of colors. This is easy to see if you pass a beam of light through a glass prism. Since different colors have different angles of refraction, we will see all the components of white color separately. Conventionally, these colors are divided into seven groups (“ colors of the rainbow"). White.
