“All the pros and cons of Fly Era Nano smartphones. “All the pros and cons of Fly Era Nano smartphones Phone Fly Era Nano 3

Greetings, dear readers!

Long gone are the days when a smartphone was an expensive device that not everyone could afford. For several years in a row, mobile phone manufacturers have been making not only advanced devices, but also budget smartphones, affordable for almost everyone.

If we compare the number of such “state employees” now with what it was a year ago, an obvious increase is noticeable. And this is understandable - the price segment up to 5 thousand rubles is very popular. Not picky buyers who choose a smartphone are happy to get a gadget for a low price, packed with many functions and equipped with an operating system (most often it is Android).

Fly phones are the most obvious representatives of this very “budget” sector. The models produced are aimed primarily at the mass consumer, for whom the presence of Android is already a huge plus. Of course, competition is doing its job, and very soon buyers will become more picky. But now the situation is such that Fly smartphones are extremely popular.

It's no joke - in the first quarter of 2014, the Fly brand took second place in Russia in terms of sales of smartphones in units, surpassing Apple and Nokia in this indicator! Not a bad result, isn't it?

And yet – how high quality are Fly smartphones? Do manufacturers sacrifice quality for the sake of price? As for relatively expensive devices (for example, the one I tested quite recently), the price-quality ratio is quite tolerable.

But today I got my hands on the Fly Era Nano line of smartphones with a price of up to 4,000 rubles, and I have to draw a conclusion about how good these really are. budget models. Let's get started...

I would like to note right away that a potential buyer who is faced with such a variety model range Fly, it won't be easy. All 4 phones of the Era Nano series, namely Fly Era Nano 2, 3, 4 and 7, look very similar to each other.

What are the differences between them? The difference lies in the characteristics, which are higher the more expensive the phone.

Which one is better? In this article, I will talk about the pros and cons of each model, and you can decide for yourself which phone deserves your trust more.

Price – 1950 rubles. This model, apparently, is intended for those who want to get acquainted with the Android OS, but are not ready to shell out a lot of money. The characteristics here are very modest: old version Android 2.3 and the most common single-core processor 1 GHz at 512 MB RAM.

Pros:

  • Low price.
  • 2 SIM cards.
  • Headset included.
  • Actually, the presence of Android itself, which makes a good “toy” out of the phone.

This is where the pros end and the cons begin:

  • Disgusting speaker quality. To have a normal conversation with your interlocutor, you need to use a headset.
  • Lack of 3G support.
  • The phone takes incredibly bad photos: The 2-megapixel camera more or less copes in bright light, but in other situations it is better not to turn it on. I'm silent about the video.
  • Lack of built-in memory for recording media files. Although the specifications indicate that the internal memory capacity is 256 MB, in reality this entire volume is allocated to the system. It will be extremely difficult to use the phone without a memory card (fortunately there is support for microSD).

The last 3 shortcomings can still be overcome, but the terrible quality of communication is an unforgivable “jamb”. After all, Fly Era Nano 2 will be bought by people for whom a powerful processor is not important - they need a “dialer” on Android. And this model plays the role of a dialer very, very poorly.

Price – 2390 rubles. The price difference with the previous model is small, but at first impression the Era Nano 3 is significantly superior to its “brother” Era Nano 2.

Pros:

  • High-quality assembly - there are no backlashes or creaks. Rear panel fits like a glove. Despite the similarity with the Nano 2 (the screen diagonal is the same - 3.5 inches), the Nano 3 seems to be made of higher quality (perhaps this impression is created due to the fact that it is 10 g heavier).
  • More modern version of Android 4.1.
  • 2 SIM cards.
  • Headset included.
  • 3G support.

Cons:

  • Talking on this phone is, of course, more comfortable, but I wouldn’t say much more comfortable. In noisy places, you will have to press your ear very hard against the speaker, trying to catch the essence of the conversation.
  • A memory card is required– without it, the very meaning of a smartphone is lost.
  • Slight delays when working with the interface. But here I’m probably being picky... Don’t forget how much this smartphone costs...

Price – 2990 rubles. In terms of characteristics, this model is similar to Era Nano 3 with the exception of one thing - the screen diagonal here is 4 inches. Due to this, the smartphone is more convenient to use. What about the rest?

Pros:

  • Ease of use: the phone fits comfortably in your hand and can be controlled well with one hand.
  • Switching between applications occurs without any visible delays.
  • Headset included.
  • 2 SIM cards.
  • 3G support.
  • A fairly good screen resolution is 480x800.
  • There is a built-in call recording function.

Cons:

  • And again I’ll say about - It's not loud enough for comfortable communication.
  • The touch screen does not always respond to touches– sometimes you have to click on the desired application icon or menu item 2-3 times.
  • No way without a memory card again...

Price – 3690 rubles. This is the most advanced model from the Fly Era Nano series. By appearance practically indistinguishable from Era Nano 4, but in terms of characteristics there is significant progress.

For example, the camera here is already 5 Mpix, Android version is 4.2, video shooting is in HD format 1280x720, the processor is dual-core 1300 MHz, the built-in memory is 4 GB.

What is it like - the flagship of the Fly Era Nano series?

Pros:

  • Nice design, ease of use.
  • 2 SIM cards.
  • 3G support.
  • Headset included.
  • Applications run smoothly.
  • Quite sensitive sensor.
  • Working on the Internet through a browser is quite smooth and does not cause any particular complaints.
  • There is internal memory.

Cons:

  • Poor hearing of the interlocutor when talking in a noisy place.
  • Minor freezes when dialing and receiving calls.
  • The ringing volume is not too high.

What can we say based on the results of the Fly Era Nano smartphone test? I told you about the main advantages and disadvantages of each model considered, and it’s up to you to decide which one to pay attention to.

If we summarize all the conclusions into one, I will note the following:

1) Each smartphone comes with high-quality headphones with a headset. That's a plus. But in addition to them, it wouldn’t hurt to put a memory card in the box, since, whatever one may say, it’s needed.

2) All smartphones have one main disadvantage - poor quality of speaker. Let's hope that manufacturers will pay closer attention to this IMPORTANT detail. Still, no one has canceled the main function of the phone...

3) At an average load level, all smartphones work approximately day without recharging.

4) Of the general advantages, it is worth noting 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

Dear friends, what is your opinion about Fly smartphones? Have any of you had experience with them? Please tell us about this!

With a review of phones, Sergey Chesnokov

British company Meridian Group, producing mobile phones under the Fly brand, is actively developing the segment of low-cost smartphones. These devices are not scary to take outdoors when you are planning an active holiday. If the phone survives, it will store pictures of acceptable quality; If he drowns or breaks, it’s a pity, but not very much. Now the most budget representative of this line is the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone. Its price ranges from 2500 to 2900 rubles.

Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone and how you saved on it

Strictly speaking, Meridian Group does not manufacture mobile phones itself - it only develops their design. To produce products, the production facilities of well-known companies are used: Lenovo, ASUS, Toshiba, etc. Successful design, acceptable price-quality ratio have determined a fairly stable demand for Fly brand products in some European countries, especially in Ukraine and Russia.

When preparing to release the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone, the company focused on efficiency. The model runs on a single-core SC7710 processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz. Spreadtrum has released this chip for use in smartphones entry level and declared its main advantage to be low cost.

Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 runs on Android based 4.4.2. Google programmers said that this operating system and applications for it require much less system resources than older versions, and therefore can run on devices with poor specifications. The Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone is equipped with an internal memory of 4 GB. It can be expanded using a microSD memory card up to 32 GB. The amount of RAM is 512 MB. According to Google, this should be enough for the smartphone to work properly with the operating system and applications.

The developers chose a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 800x480 px for the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10. Matrices made using this technology are cheaper than IPS matrices and are inferior in color rendering quality. On the other hand, displays based on IPS matrices are more energy-intensive. For a super-economical smartphone, it was perhaps natural to choose a TFT display.

What Fly did not regret for the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10

The Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone is equipped with a 3.2 MP main camera with flash and a 0.3 MP front camera. There is no autofocus in the camera settings, but you can choose the type of lighting, shooting mode, including panoramic, and some other parameters. Accordingly, in good natural light you can get good pictures.

It is very convenient to have 2 slots for SIM cards, so the buyer can choose favorable rates from different operators. Built-in GPS receiver, installed cards Google and the Navitel app could make the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 a very useful travel device.

Audio and video player supports all popular formats. There is an FM receiver, wifi adapter and others useful features. The dimensions of the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 allow it to be controlled with one hand. Fingerprints are almost invisible on the matte body. The smartphone comes with a battery, charger, stereo headphones, USB cable.

Customer complaints

The 1500 mAh battery gets very hot even in standby mode and quickly discharges not only when surfing the Internet, but also during a phone call. In fact, the manufacturers of the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 honestly warn buyers about this: the maximum operating time on the Internet is up to 3.5 hours. The more discharged the battery, the worse the display works - the viewing angle decreases, the image flickers. There are complaints about poor hearing during telephone conversations.

Despite Google's optimistic statements, the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 clearly lacks resources when surfing the web: “heavy” pages with a lot of photos load slowly, so it makes sense to disable the display of images in the browser properties.

I don’t even know what advantages this model has, they write that the price is not a plus, but rather a minus, they lure us with a cheap smartphone and after the purchase you dream of quickly getting rid of this squalor

The phone worked well in summer at temperatures above +40 degrees (Asia)!!! (calls, mobile internet, SMS, radio, video and photos). The quality of communication and photos (during the day) is good. Wi-Fi finds and connects quickly.

As a dialer on Android it fully justifies itself, in terms of size, basic functionality - it suits - Skype, dialer, two SIM cards, Wi-Fi distributor, voice recorder, radio, internet surfer. But, if you don’t know how or don’t want to tinker with the firmware, it’s better to look for another model and another manufacturer.

Low memory. Lots of built-in unnecessary applications, which clog up the memory.

    weak camera, 512 MB RAM

The sensor is too sensitive - during a conversation with my ear I turn on bluetooth, Wi-Fi and often airplane mode, the internal memory is very small, only 192 MB although it says 512, fragile screen, cracked after 2 months, small battery, screen brightness at minimum as on my old one at maximum . Terrible keyboard

Typing text is sometimes almost impossible, glitches are normal for this phone. Unreasonably confused address book.

a lot of shortcomings! The back cover is made of very bad plastic, it broke where it opens; The phone lives its own life - it goes into applications, music, etc., okay, at least it doesn’t call. The battery is 2 hours on the Internet...

They are massive, they slide in the hand, weak battery, oak sensor, Wi-Fi falls off, operating speed is monstrously low

If you use 3G mobile Internet, the battery drains quite quickly. Not enough built-in memory. It turns on slowly, about 30 seconds.

This device has many disadvantages, the first is the battery; intensive use on the Internet kills the charge in a couple of hours and you have to charge it again, the camera is not very good, the memory of unimportant applications does not fit in, the processor, to be honest, the phone is not an acquired taste

Perhaps the internal memory is not enough, but it’s a sin to find fault with such ridiculous money.

There was enough memory to install three or four applications. But with skillful hands, you can remove all the junk from under the root. Free up some memory. There are no firmwares newer than SW11 (Android 4.1), which is a pity. WiFi, BT, 3G drain the battery very quickly. Turn it off if you don't use it as a rocking chair all the time.

Good afternoon, reader!
Today I am reviewing a mega-budget smartphone on Android Fly Era Nano3 (IQ436). It has a screen diagonal of 3.5 inches, is equipped with two SIM card slots, and works under Android control 4.1.2. The smartphone is relatively new, it went on sale in April 2014. In terms of technical characteristics it doesn’t have enough stars in the sky, but its price is very affordable - about 2000-2500 rubles at the moment. Any segment of the population can afford such a smartphone. More details about it can be found in my review today. Let's go! :)

Delivery set.

The smartphone is delivered in a durable white box. The front side of the box shows the smartphone itself, and the back side shows the general technical information according to the model.

Box, back.

The package includes the following:
Fly Era Nano 3 smartphone with removable battery
Charger
Micro USB cable
Headphones - headset
User manual and paper documentation.

The set is quite common for many smartphones; we can only highlight the headphones, which will also serve as a headset. The headphone cable has a crocodile clip for attaching to clothing and a button for accepting a call. The sound quality of the headphones is quite good, the sound is quite loud and clear.

Design, dimensions and display.

In terms of design, Era Nano 3 does not stand out among many other models - it has a glossy plastic cover and rounded edges of the body. The assembly of the device is good, I did not notice any backlashes or creaks.

Front view.

Rear view

Top end, rear view.

The dimensions of Era Nano 3 are very compact, because the screen diagonal is only 3.5 inches and the weight is only 115 grams! The smartphone fits comfortably in your hand, your thumb can easily reach any corner of the screen. But on the other hand, on a 3.5" screen it is not very convenient to type text and surf the Internet.
The touch display is made on the basis of a TFT matrix, the display resolution is 320x480 pixels. This is not to say that the resolution is high by today's standards, but the picture on the screen looks quite good. If you look at the screen at angles, the overall visibility and color rendition are noticeably reduced - these are features of the TFT matrix. But for a device costing 2000 rubles, this is forgivable.

Communication and communication capabilities.

The phone works in 2G and 3G networks: GSM 900/1800/, WCDMA 900/2100, and has 2 slots for SIM cards. There is Bluetooth version 2.1, Wi-Fi module 802.11 b/g/n, the phone can operate in access point mode. The call quality is good, audibility during conversations is also good. Wi-Fi reception is stable, I have not encountered any glitches or disconnections during use.

But the smartphone does not have a GPS module; the Era Nano 3 cannot be used as a navigator.

Through the Micro-usb slot you can connect your smartphone to a computer or laptop, transfer files, synchronize, etc.

Camera.

The phone has two cameras - a 0.3 megapixel front camera and a 3.2 megapixel rear camera with flash. There is practically nothing to say about the front one, because it is needed mainly for video communication through various applications such as Skype . It does its job, and that's fine :)

ABOUT rear camera, unfortunately, there is practically nothing to say either. The quality of the photographs is very, very mediocre. The camera does not have autofocus. The camera flash is quite weak. If you take pictures in low light, the photos will turn out even worse (example in the 4th photo below). Maximum photo resolution – 2048 x 1536 pixels. Video is recorded in resolution 720 x 480 px.

It’s clear what to demand from a smartphone for 2000 rubles. A high-quality camera is not a noble occupation. If you urgently need to photograph something in general terms in daylight, then a smartphone is quite suitable for these purposes. In other cases, you can’t rely on your phone’s camera.

You can see examples of photos below. The pictures are clickable.

Memory, processor and performance.

As I said above, in terms of technical characteristics, the phone does not have enough stars in the sky, but nevertheless, it works fast enough for many tasks.

In Era Nano 3 1-core processor installed SC7710 with a core frequency of 1.0 GHz, 512 MB RAM and graphics chip Mali -300.

Built-in memory total 512 MB , of which approximately 120 MB are available to the user. You can install a memory card and expand the capacity up to 32 GB. Memory cards of the following format are officially supported: microSDHC up to 32 GB. I’ll say right away that the available space is 120 MB - very few, you will need to install a memory card if you decide to install applications and games from Play -market. For installing applications and several games, a 2-4 GB memory card is quite suitable.

Moreover, without a memory card it is impossible to take a screenshot from your phone screen. As planned by the programmers, a screenshot can only be saved with a memory card installed in the phone.

In terms of performance, in general I can say that everything works quite well and smoothly. I can't say that Era Nano 3 works quickly, but at the same time - I can’t say that it works very slowly. Sort of average. Applications open quite quickly, Internet surfing hardly slows down, videos open and play well. In the test Antutu Benchmark The phone dialed almost 4,500 points, this is not a very high performance indicator. See screenshots.

285 MB of free RAM.
Overall rating in the Antunu test.

The Era Nano 3's hardware is weak by today's standards, but it can be used. I have never noticed that the phone slows down or freezes too much. If you run several applications at the same time, the speed of operation decreases slightly, but in general everything is quite good. If you don’t install a bunch of applications on your phone, then it has about 250-300 MB of free RAM - this is quite enough to run several applications at the same time, and so that the phone does not start to slow down during operation. See screenshot above.
As for games, you can play, but simple games. This smartphone will not handle cool 3D games.

Operating system.

Fly Era Nano 3 runs on Android 4.1.2, by default several applications are installed at once: several services from Google, Yandex.search, a widget from Yandex, a browser, etc. Honestly, I don’t like that Fly constantly installs the application Yandex.search into almost all of your smartphones and tablets, and makes it systemic. This application consumes quite a lot of battery power, and without root access it cannot be removed because it is a system application. I recommend immediately installing root and deleting this Yandex.search, then the battery will last a little longer, and the OS itself will be a little faster. If you want to install root, then ask questions in the comments, I’ll tell you.
But keep in mind - if you root, you will lose warranty service on your smartphone!
Over-the-air update via Wi-Fi (OTA) ) for new firmware, but I don’t think that new firmware will be released for this device. It’s too budget-friendly, and it’s probably not very profitable for the manufacturer to invest in its further updating to new versions of Android.

In general, the firmware works well, I did not notice any serious glitches or bugs.

Rechargeable battery.

The phone uses a removable lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh. The manufacturer claims that the smartphone will work in talk mode for up to 5.5 hours, and in standby mode for up to 100 hours.Video playback time is up to 3.5 hours.
1500 mAh is certainly not very much, but with normal use with occasional loads, the phone lasts for about 1.5-2 days. As you know, the main consumers of the battery are the screen and Wi-Fi . But, since the screen diagonal is not very large and does not have a very high resolution, the battery will not be consumed so much. I already mentioned above that if you install root and remove Yandex.search, the battery will last a little longer... Whether you need it or not, decide for yourself.

Conclusion.

In general, in my opinion, Fly It turned out to be a quite suitable ultra-budget smartphone for a reasonable price. Almost everyone can afford a smartphone at this price!Fly Era Nano 3 I can recommend it to those who are just about to get acquainted with Android. Or take it as a spare smartphone, just in case you already have a cooler and more expensive device.

Among the advantages of the device:
1. Compact size.
2. High-quality assembly - nothing crunches or plays.
3. Loud sound from the speaker.
4. Dual SIM cards.
5. 2 year warranty and very low price!

The disadvantages include:
1. Weak hardware by today's standards, lack GPS.
2. There is not enough built-in memory, but this issue can be solved by installing a memory card.
3. The camera takes very low quality photos.
4. There is no support for USB flash drives via an OTG cable.

But to a greater extent, these are not shortcomings, but features of this smartphone. I didn’t find any shortcomings as such.

At the time of publication of this review (September 2014), the average price forFly Era Nano 3is onlyRUB 2,296, judging by Yandex.market. Quite a decent device for the price!
That's all, thanks for your attention!

An economy class smartphone with a basic set of functions and interface elements, as well as a minimal cost - that's all about the Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434. Reviews about this smart phone, as well as its technical parameters and opportunities - this is the subject of this review material.

Appearance

This gadget cannot boast of anything unusual in terms of design and case material. This is a typical candy bar with a body made entirely of plastic and has only 2 color options: white and black. It is preferable to buy Era Nano 5 Black. Dirt and scratches are not so noticeable on the black color. But you won’t be able to avoid them even with a case and protective film: the quality of the case materials is far from ideal. The white version of this gadget is aimed at the weaker half of humanity. At the same time, it will need to be handled very carefully so as not to spoil its original condition. It is also worth noting that the Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 Black is slightly more expensive than the white one. There is more demand for it, hence the difference in price.

The front panel of the device has a 3.5-inch TFT screen. Below it is a gadget control panel of three typical touch buttons. On the left edge there is a volume rocker, and on the right there is a smartphone lock button. There is an audio port on the top side of the device, and a “universal” micro-USB on the bottom. On the back cover of the device there is a loud speaker and a single camera peephole.

CPU

The MT6571AE is used as the central processor in the Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434. Reviews from owners of this smart phone model indicate the low level of performance of this chip. It consists of two computing cores, which are based on the architecture of the Cortex-A7 ARM processors. Its strength is low power consumption, but high level it cannot boast of productivity. Clock frequency computing cores at maximum load can increase to 1.3 GHz.

Screen and graphics

The Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 has a rather modest screen. The instructions say that its diagonal is a modest 3.5 inches, and its resolution is 640x480. However, it uses an outdated TFT matrix. As a result, the picture quality on the display is quite mediocre. At viewing angles close to 160 degrees, image distortion occurs.

One of the main advantages of this phone model is the presence of a Mali-400 graphics coprocessor. Of course, it does not stand out from its analogues with a fantastic level of performance, but with its help it is possible to watch videos in MPEG-4 and AVI formats, and this is already good.

Camera

A very weak camera in a device like the Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5. The instructions indicate that it is based on a 1.3 megapixel sensor element. Accordingly, the quality of photos and videos obtained with its help is very modest. Additional options such as autofocus, optical image stabilization or LED backlight are not provided in this device. In general, there is a camera, but getting a high-quality photo with its help is quite difficult and difficult. The only thing she's good at is

Memory

A very modest memory subsystem in this device. The amount of RAM is 256 MB, and the capacity of the built-in storage is 512 MB. It is impossible to increase the amount of RAM, but the capacity of the integrated storage can be increased by installing memory cards. The maximum capacity of supported drives is 32 GB.

Autonomy

Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434 smartphone comes with battery for 1000 mAh. This is a modest value, as in modern times. But if you take into account the small diagonal of its screen and high degree energy efficiency of the central processor, then the declared capacity at an average load level on a smart phone should be enough for 2-3 days. If desired, this value can be increased to 5 days, but in this case the device completely turns into a regular dual-SIM dialer. Well, if the phone is loaded to the maximum, then one charge will be enough for 1 day of increased load.

Interfaces

The Era Nano 5 phone is equipped with all the necessary wireless methods for transmitting information. He supports mobile networks 2nd (they are also called GSM) and 3rd (the second name is 3G), Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The first two methods of transmitting information are intended to receive data from the global web, the third is for navigation. Well, the latter allows you to connect a wireless stereo headset to the gadget or exchange data with similar devices. There are also wired interfaces: 3.5 mm (for outputting sound to an external audio system) and micro-USB (provides battery charging and allows you to exchange information with a PC).

Software

The software basis of this device is Android. Its version is 4.2. There are no additional programs on this smartphone, there is only a typical set of system software, which includes built-in mini-applications operating system(calculator, organizer, alarm clock), a set of programs from Google and clients of international social networks. The new owner of this phone will have to independently install all other additional software from the application store. It should be noted that the capacity of the built-in storage is very small, and to install many programs you will have to buy a memory card.

Owners about the gadget

Key Advantage of this device Compared to similar devices, this is the cost of the Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434. Reviews point to this feature. Today you can buy this gadget for $50. At the same time, we are talking about a fairly functional smartphone that can solve most everyday tasks: watching videos, listening to radio stations (only with external speakers connected) and music, surfing Internet portals, reading books and navigating around the area - all this is within its capabilities. But it will be quite difficult to obtain high-quality photos and videos with its help. The situation is similar with resource-intensive applications that simply will not run on this device.
